I have been saying that global warming is a hoax for some time now. That's not to say that I disagree that we should monitor our energy consumption, I just believe we should do it for entirely different reasons. We've installed a new themostat and switched to energy saving lightbulbs to save money every month on our electricity bill. But when does sensibility turn irrational? For one, I am sick of self-proclaimed "liberals" who propagate their propaganda without any real scientific basis behind it, or even common sense.
I'm sorry, but Al Gore is a joke. Ok, blaming record highs on global warming -- fair enough. But lows too? Not only are the polar ice caps going to melt, but they are going to freeze over too. Yet recorded history, as far as my knowledge and understanding permits, never mentions or contains any "ice ages" (unless you count the natural periods of cooling). But that's another topic entirely. Has anybody noticed that because we are entering a "cooling" period, Global Warming is now being interchanged with "Climate Change" -- perhaps in a few months Global Warming will fall off the scene as a buzzword history will begin to be rewritten... I, for one, will always call them out on what this fiasco started out as: global warming via CO2. HELLO?! Am I the only one that sees how ridiculous that sounds? Does anyone remember what they learned in elementary school science class about how plants give us oxygen to breathe and we give them CO2 that they absorb? The very first time I heard about CO2 being a pollutant I thought about this. AND ALSO, a "globally warm" earth is actually beneficial -- there is more growth then in terms of plant life and creatures than in a "globally cool" period.
What I really want to get across, is that most people I know that argue for global warming have no idea about any actual science to stand behind their opinion, whereas a simple google search will find a lot of complex scientific and mathematic commentary that is enough to make my head spin, like this site for example. Again, another topic entirely, but I get the same thing for those who want to "argue" for evolution. And thus, if you're going to have an opinion, you should at least know something intelligible about it that is not just regurgitated propaganda.
The truth is not always what it seems, and rarely ever is what the current media portrays it as... it's a serious case of revisionist history or just plain cover ups. If nobody talks about it then it doesn't exist. If you really think that Global Warming is a real concern... ask yourself, have you really studied the facts? You may be asking yourself, why would the government, media and other croonies want to perpetrate a global warming hoax? That is merely speculation, there could be plenty of reasons (money included), and I'm not an authority in these matters by any stretch of the imagination, but I can do my own research and find out the facts FOR MYSELF. How many of you still have mommy feed you? So why rely on someone like Al Gore for your information? The man is not a scientist, nor will he debate with anyone, and if someone opposes he throws mud at them... just like a two year old. Why don't you see why many, many scientists and regular people like you and I are convinced that Global Warming IS a hoax, and a dangerous one at that.
Here's a good place to start:
Worlds Natural Health Organization: THE GLOBAL WARMING HOAX
Wikipedia: Global Warming Conspiracy Theory
Global Warming Hoax: Where Only The Truth Heats Up
Derica Lorriane - Global Warming Hoax
That's only the tip of the iceburg. Google "Global Warming" "Global Warming Hoax" and "Global Warming Conspiracy" and see where you end up. Compare the reasoning and science behind both cases and see which is stronger. You may be surprised at what you find.
If you can remain positive when it appears as though the world around you is crumbling, then you're doing pretty good. Staying positive is not easy, in fact, most people are not positive or thankful for the many blessings they already have in their lives. It is not hard to become bitter and feel as though the world owes you something. Personally, I don't see how the world could possibly owe us a thing, we are born here without anything of our own and we leave the same way. Every worldly possession, every dime we earn is fleeting, as in, it is here today and gone tomorrow.
I believe this is part of the reason why poor people tend to be happier than rich people. The poor understand that life is about more than every possession you have, or how much money you have in the bank. They find things in life to make them happy that do not revolve around having the latest gadget or the hottest car, or just generally keeping up with the Jones'. I hope that no matter what financial successes or failures come up in my life that I can remain well-adjusted and aware of what is really important in life, and most importantly, keeping humility.
Of course, that one thing -- "what's really important in life" -- varies from person to person. I feel sorry for people who their only joy in life is seeking pleasure that wealth can afford. The question of who we are and where we came from is such an important metaphysical equation that I know many people prefer to cloud from their view as much as possible, whether they fill their time up with distractions like fame, drugs, alcohol, food, objects, sex, science, etc, they never really allow themselves to ponder the question, maybe because they don't like the answer.
Which makes me think of a famous atheist and scientist, Dr. Hoyle (the man who named the Big Bang), who stated that there were two possible explanations for creation: something along the lines of evolution, or intelligent design (a creator). He said that he did not want to believe in a god, and therefore he decided his only alternative was evolution, as impossible as it is. Really, the likelihood that the world was created by evolution is as likely as a hurricane going through a junk yard and creating a Boeing 747. It is obvious to me that the world goes towards entropy (decay), not order. There are things such as finding fossils of alligators in the Arctic/Poles of the earth -- how did those get there? (how about the force of a massive worldwide flood?)
Oh, I could continue with this subject for a long time and could make countless of good, scientific points about it, to which my debaters have no intelligent reply, aside from the fact that, "All scientists believe in Evolution therefore it must be true." Which is not only an false assessment, but an ignorant method of discovering the truth. There is no excuse except for the fact that they just don't want to believe that there is a creator. Dr. Hoyle rejected the Big Bang because even as some thought that theory pointed away from God, he realized that it only pointed TOWARDS creation, whether there was a "Big Bang" or not, it does not disprove that there couldn't be a "Big God" behind it.
Some people believe they need to figure out all of these issues before they can accept Christianity. Except there is one problem... there is no way we can know all of these things. The bible itself says that man cannot understand all of life's mysteries, and that once we die some things will be revealed to us. I don't feel as though God is necessarily choosing to hide these things from us as much as that it's just impossible for us to relate to things of eternal and metaphysical properties.
The most important thing about Christianity is the fact that we are all sinners, and I think that is also painfully obvious if we allow ourselves to acknowledge that. God is a Holy and Righteous being, as we are, even if we only told a single lie and that was all we were guilty of (which, we have told far more lies than that, and done far worse things, even myself), then it would be enough to condemn us. The point is that God sent His son to die in our place, so that we might not have to. In a very real sense, it was as though God Himself took a bullet for us.
Of course, Jesus also rose from the dead in three days and then ascended to heaven (and there are not many people who decide to debate that fact, as that the alternative conspiracy theories are just as fantastical themselves), but to someone who is not saved it just doesn't make sense at all... but the moment that your eyes have been opened and everything begins to fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. The concept is really not that hard to understand, and once you have arrived to that understanding, then you can begin to see the truths of the bible, and the relating science. Things like how modern science points closer to what the bible says about our history on this planet than anything else, and how every day they are making discoveries to put actual places and people from the bible in real life. As an example, not to long ago King David's (the author of the Psalms) throne was found. Scientists are saying more now than ever that the evidence of pointing the human race down to one male and one female in a certain location (think of the "fertile cresant over in the north africa, region -- think Egypt, Israel, Iraq, etc) is overwhelming.
In high school I was led to believe that my beliefs were illogical and had no scientific ground. I was made to feel as though I had no basis for my opinions and was obviously less intelligent because I did not believe in evolution. If only I knew what I know now back then, I would have had a word or two to say about THAT, which he probably would not have had an answer to. I don't claim to be a scientist, but I am willing to learn more about it and the origins of the earth, though ultimately, it is not something that will ever be proven 100% -- mark my words -- they are trying, but it is impossible to succeed. I have a hard time respecting those who come to me saying evolution has been proven, because obviously they are listening to some atheists dogma, don't know the facts, or don't understand what the world "theory" means, it is as simple as that.
How I got off on this subject, I don't know. All I really meant to say was that it was difficult to stay positive when everything around you seems to be falling, which is really how I feel right now. But I do feel as though there is something to be learned here, and if it's not patience and humility, then it's just being grateful for the things in life that really matter. To me, that's the people around me, the roof over my head, the food in the refrigerator -- all of my immediate needs are satisfied and continue to be, and I realize that the Lord is watching over me and making sure that I am taken care of, after all, aren't I worth much more than the sparrow, and yet the sparrow never worries about their next meal. And am I not loved? Am I not warm under the covers at night? I think that regardless of what religious affiliation you may have (including those of you who have none), the thought of keeping positive and being thankful for what you have is still a good practice to employ. Who likes to be around someone who is constantly negative? Someone who is constantly complaining? Someone who thinks they are suffering the most out of everyone? I don't even begin to claim my troubles are greater than someone elses. In fact, just today I found out a seller on Etsy was involved in a motorcycle crash and died, leaving behind two boys. No, I don't think my problems are chief over anyone elses. Not in the least.
Faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. What a profound statement, but it really makes you realize, do you really have that faith? I venture to say that many do not, including myself. It is hard to trust in a supernatural force to provide for you when you feel as though everything you have is a direct provision of your own labors. How difficult it is to recognize that the provider of these things is not yourself, but God, even for a Christian. I believe I am going through this situation right now just to make this point closer to home. If I get this job I have been praying about, it is soley because of God Himself... there is always going to be someone better than me, more qualified than me, if I get it, it will be a miracle. I will not be praising myself for how good I am, though I do realize that God gave me these talents to perform this job, but I will be praising Him for the opportunity, I guarantee you that!
