Here are the rules:
1- Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
2- People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post the rules.
3- At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people and include their names.
4- Don't forget to leave them a comment on their blog and tell them they've been tagged, and to come back and read your blog for the whole story.
I thought this looked fun... but of course, I love talking about myself so why wouldn't it be? ;)
- I like to always be busy -- if I'm not constantly doing something I feel like I am wasting time or just bored. In some ways, it's good because I can be productive, however, it also has a bunch of undesirable side effects such as trouble sleeping or relaxing, and a decreased productivity when I am tired.
- I met my husband on the interwebnet in December of 2003. People don't know what to make of it when it inevitably comes up in conversation, especially older people (because they think that everyone on the internet lies or something). For the record, we met on a message board for Christian Musicians (not a dating site, though there is nothing wrong with that) and we definitely didn't intend to find love 1,200 miles away but it happened and here I am!
- I love my job -- I feel insanely lucky to be able to do something creative instead of stuck in a retail environment (where I never lasted long). It's exciting because I can see that I'm constantly getting better and developing my skills, learning new things. I'm enjoying the process and working with other creative professionals. People who finally understand my passion for typography and design. Gotta love it.
- I can be socially awkward in real world situations. I think that sometimes I come off as snobby or apathetic towards people, but really, I am just shy. I find it easier to let people know how I feel about them through thoughtful gifts and the written word.
- I am very passionate about Jesus Christ, Truth, Wisdom, Love and the Bible, and applying these things to real life situations to uncover the reality behind everything -- politics, people, etc. My beliefs are a bit "off" from your average American, or at least most people I know, but I think a mutual respect is necessary when disagreements come up (which they inevitably do).
- I'm really overweight and it affects my life more than I wish it did. I have lost a pretty significant amount of weight in the past 8 months, but I have been stagnant for awhile and would like to stop making excuses for myself and just do it. What am I afraid of? Failure. I'm usually pretty good at anything I do, but for the things that actually take some hard work, like losing weight and getting fit, I get discouraged easily. I have not given up and have been maintaining my current loss within 5lbs, but I guess you could say I've been on hiatus.
- I have the worlds worst hair. It's extremely fine and... limp. I have just discovered the power of products and a good haircut, though, so I'm working on fooling the eye ;). It is pretty soft though and otherwise healthy. It's good to be young!
- I ran my own business for a little over a year doing freelance web and graphic design and a myriad of other little side projects. It was fun while it lasted but in the end my stress level was a lot higher than it needed to be. Still, not many people can say they ran their own business for a year when they were 21/22. Not sure if I'd ever want to do it again though... maybe if I did a lot more planning. Failure to plan is like planning to fail after all.
I'm tagging the following people (though anyone who wants to do this can consider themselves tagged!): Nacwolin, Kirk, quornflour, sillyduckie, Lorelei, チェルシー, Christina and mLee.
Five facts about me:
- I hate licorice, but I love rootbeer. Could there be any more of a contradiction?
- I have the best job ever and I don't even care that I don't make a lot of money! Every job I've ever had so far started out fine, but after a few months, I dreaded going. Finally, I can do what I love and make just as much money (and actually a little more maybe). I can pay my bills, they certainly are modest, but we all have to start somewhere. It is refreshing, though, to wake up and look forward to the schedule I have planned.
- How about another contradiction? I love to organize things, but my room is almost always in a state of chaos. In desperate need to remedy the situation, I have gotten rid of a bunch of useless papers and knickknacks, purchased more storage possibilities and did some re-arranging. Which means, my environment is starting to match up with my desires. All I can say is: IT WAS ABOUT TIME.
- I easily lose track of time when I am very involved with something. To give you an idea, once I started drawing something at 1am, I hardly looked up from the paper only to find that 6 HOURS passed by. How I managed to stay up the whole night without getting tired and falling asleep is beyond me. All I know, is that brilliant achievement spawned my scales series that I have been using from here on out.
- I have been to all of the following places by the time I was 18, and most of them before I was 16: Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, California, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virgina, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, England, Sweden & the Netherlands. Not bad, eh?
Now that you all know a little more about me, I'm going to tag the following people so we can all get to know them a little better:
